DC motor is used for drive of paper feeding with this incremental shaft encoder for close-loop control in software of which is almost cost nothing

the basis of how incremental shaft encoder works, review and refresh, it does match why the sensor module have 6 pins
LED, light source, 2 pins
power, + / -, 2 pins
output, 2 phases, 2 pins

test rig for this encoder, RED LED & quadrature output is in action


conclusion:
5V system and 3V3 interface, no sure whether it is open-collector or CMOS, but it is possible to uses the debug interface for further examination.
