The 6.06 was not yet tested completely and now the 7.04 is coming. A spot check this morning for progress, the Ubuntu has been annouced the latest release just couple days ago.
Reference : the last result with 6.06 or 6.1 wihout successful 3G connection
The Ubuntu 7.04 looks like working very well, no any problem so far with HUAWEI E612 and the 3G connection is all set at first trial. It has no any evidence that a proof of the Ubuntu 6.06 buggy, but a conclusion, the 7.04 resloved the mess.
There has another issue with the wireless network, the ASUS WL-167G has not yet working for the machine, once the initialization for this device is taking place, the PC will stop to response, digging more for reason, may be another buggy
